Behind Joe Biden

The background behind candidates effect who they become and the issues they represent. While on their way back from shopping for a Christmas tree his wife and three kids were involved in a car wreck in which his wife and infant daughter were killed while his two sons were severely injured. At the bedside of his sons he was persuaded to be sworn into the senate. Although it was an unusual way to become a senator, it shows that Joe Biden has the ability to see if something is important or not even in the most horrific time, proving that as vice president he’ll be able to tell what’s right for this country. In 1987, while running for president and while presenting a speech he was accused of plagiarism of a speech given by British politician Neil Kinnock. However it turned out to be a one time mistake but it was too late to rejoin his campaign. Since he has already entered the presidential field it shows that he is already experienced, which will help in the long run if Obama were to win the election. Ones views and beliefs are influenced by their bakcground and what they have experienced.

The past events of ones life influences how they will act and be affected by specfic events. In the eighties Joe Biden was hospitalized with a pair of brain aneurysms, which he was successfully able to recover from. Even through the mental stress of losing his wife and daughter he was still able to fight his way through this, proving that it will take a lot to make him give up. A few years after his original wife was killed Joe Biden remarried to Jill Biden, who helped him take care of his injured sons. His act shows that he will continue to keep moving forward while still remembering the past. Joe Biden has lived through a lot yet he seems unable to be stop as he continues to pursue his task of creating a better country. The events of one's past higly effects how they will act towards other situations.

I think this because you explained events like the car crash and actually said "he was still able to fight his way through... Joe Biden has lived through a lot". Both of your topic sentenes fit the paragraph perfectly saying how events may eefect a person then explaining the car accident and also the same message for the second paragraph and supporting it with Biden's hospitalization.
I learned from this blog that I didn't know before that he had brain problems!After losing his family he still fought medically and that shows a lot of dedication.

Where does Obama Stand?

Abortion
Abortion is becoming one of the major issues as some say that killing a child is cruel while others argue that they should have the right to get rid of the child if they feel that they aren't ready to be a parent just yet. Recently Obama voted towards a bill to ban late-term abortions stating that "as long as the there's an exception for the mother's health and life the child should have the right to live. Obama stated that he “trust women to make these decisions in conjunction with their doctors and their families.” The Democratic Party believes that in order to lower abortions the government should make sure that adoption is always an option for the child. To Obama there is a moral dimension to abortion because he believes that all to often people who are pro-choice have not talked of or tried to tamp down on others views of abortion. As abortion is becoming a bigger issue in America it is up to the nest president to find ways to fix the problem not only for the child but for the mother as well.
Education
Education should be considered the most important issue for they way the people of our country are educated highly effects to future for the country. Obama believes in charter schools are important for he sees them as “a way to foster competition in the public school system” stating that he will double funding for these schools if elected presidents. In the final presidential debate Obama said that he does not believe in the use of government vouchers attending private schools because based on the data it doesn’t solve the problem. Obama states that in both concepts of evolution and biblical studies “science is generally incompatible with the Christian faith.” The way one is educated determines the path they will take in the future, affecting not only themselves but the country they represent as well.
Death Penalty
The issue of the death penalty is becoming a huge conflict between the people who believe it is reasonable for certain crimes and those who believe that killing someone is just cruel. To Obama the death penalty "does little to deter crime." Obama claims he can make to death penalty more efficient by enforcing the taping of interrogations and confessions. Obama stated that he supported capital punishment as long as it affects the entire community at a high enough measure. On June 28th, 2008 Obama disagreed with a law outlawing the executions of child rapists. The death penalty, although harsh, is a sure enough way for people to understand the consequences of their actions.
Environment
The environment is quickly becoming one of the major issues in the on going election, for the way it is dealt with can hugely affect not only the economy but the people as well. For the Democratic Party off-shoring drilling is against their beliefs as Obama believes that there are other ways to bring down the cost of gas. Obama believes that by drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge we would “irreversibly damage a protected wildlife refuge without creating sufficient oil supplies to meaningfully affect the global market price.” His plan for the next ten years is to put in a hundred fifty billion into finding a new source of energy stating the new greener energy would support over five million new jobs. Tougher fuel efficiency standards for cars and stricter restrictions on the amount of carbons in fuels is a top priority to Obama as he hopes for a more “green efficient” country and world. The way the environment is dealt with will not only effect the environment itself but the people as well.
Health Care
With the horrible economy health care is getting harder and harder for Americans to afford. Obama has stated that his belief on universal health care is one of the core values of the Democratic Party. One of the many goals of the Obama party is providing government health insurance for all Americans. Obama has promised to propose a national health care plan which would allow individuals and businesses to buy health care. However this plan would only provide coverage for children, not adults, and would be funded through the revenue from allowing President Bush’s tax cuts to expire. Health care is an important issue to all Americans which should be addressed by both candidates very severely.
Immigration
With the rise of immigration pride, jobs, and lives of American people are being taken away by people who don't even have the right to live here. Obama supports stronger enforcement on immigration by adding personnel, infrastructure and technology along the border. As president Obama wishes to remove the incentives for people to enter the country illegally stating that “the time to fix the country’s broken immigration system is now.” Obama has stated that he wants to "crack down on employers that hire undocumented immigrants" wanting to make sure that companies know exactly who they are hiring. If elected Obama promised to enforce a new proposal which would create a new employment verification system so that employers can verify that the people they are hiring are legal and not taking jobs away from Americans. By cracking down on immigration the candidates can create a better life for true and loyal Americans.
Iraq War
In the ongoing election to way a candidates chooses to act upon the issue of the Iraq war has highly affected to range of people who choose to vote for them. Obama has argued through his campaign that the war in Afghanistan should be finished before “the U.S. embarks on a dumb and rash war.” IN Obama’s campaign he made the Iraq War a central issue asking every voter “who got the most important foreign policy decision out of the Cold War and who got it wrong?” Obama has stated that if elected he will remove one or two combat brigades each moth, having all American troops out of Iraq in sixteen months. The issue of the Iraq war is affecting the campaigns of both sides as they try to convince to people they will know how to handle to issue.
Economy
With the economy becoming such an issue in the U.S. it is important that the candidates have a well enough way to deal with it. If elected Obama promises to provide a ninety-five percent tax relief to hard working Americans. “Making Work Pay” is to be created by the Democratic Party, a plan which will allow a five hundred dollar tax break to the working American or a one thousand dollar tax break for the working family. Obama has promised to eliminate all capital gains taxes on startup and small businesses. An important aspect of foreign trading is that it is done fair which is why Obama plans on using trade agreements to spread good labor and environmental standards around the world.. The candidates need to show Americans their ideas for a better economy so that Americans can make the right choice for the future of our country.
Poverty
In America poverty is becoming an issue as many people struggle with taxes, trying to raise a family and take care of themselves. Obama has helped allow the state to earn a higher income tax credit which he claims will allow for tax cuts toward low-income families. In September 2007, Obama supported a plan which by eliminating cooperate loopholes and tax breaks he would be able to create tax cuts for the middle class and senior citizens. Obama has claimed that he would aim to create "promise neighborhoods" in which "a full network of services will be provided from birth to college." As a U.S. Senate co-sponsor Obama supported the Global Poverty Act, which allows for the development of a comprehensive agenda to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 based on the support of the president. There are many different views on poverty making a candidate’s stance on it extremely important.
Stem Cell Research
With all the incurable disease spreading around the country stem cell research seems to be the only hope to find ways to save lives. Obama has continued to support stem cell research by stating that if elected he will continue to support a federal restriction which leans toward embryonic stem cell research. Obama supports in using discarded human embryos, originally created for fertility treatments, to carry out the research so that no human would be hurt or damaged in the process. In 2005 Obama supported the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2005, a bill supported by President Bush. The new bill would allow a part of the federal funding to be used toward stem cell research. By putting in money to research the government can help in the act to find cures for deathly diseases.

Where Does McCain Stand?

Abortion
Abortion is becoming a major issue as people continue to argue over the fact that we are killing the children of the future. McCain currently holds an anti-abortion voting record, which consists of his support of the ban on partial-birth abortions. For McCain abortion should only be an option in a time involving rape, incest or the threatening of the mother life. McCain has stated that he hopes that once elected he will be able to create a time in which abortion is no longer necessary. In order to avoid women getting illegal and dangerous operations McCain opposed the repeal of Roe verse Wade, the two sides of the election. Abortion can highly affect the country as doctors may be killing the great thinker and invertors for the future.
Education
Children are always thought of as the future which is why their education should be the top priority. McCain, considering Darwin’s theory of evolution, stated that children should be exposed to all views. McCain believes that vouchers would help in the attending of private and religious schools by students. Presidential candidate McCain has stated that “it is time to give the middle class the same right to send their children to schools which best fit their needs as wealthier families have.” The education of our country’s children remains important as the future depends on the decision they plan on making.
Death Penalty
Arguments continue to be made over if the death penalty is too cruel for Americans or if it is just a way to keep order. McCain and the Republican Party stick to their views as supporting the death penalty for Americans. McCain has supported in the condemning of the death penalty to criminals who commit acts of fatal terrorism. If elected president McCain said that he would consider the expansion of capital punishment for other crimes. Following his beliefs McCain disagreed with outlawing the execution of child rapists. The death penalty should be enforced for if the American government keeps enforcing it we may begin to see a decrease in the amount of crimes around the country.
Environment
The environment continues to remain a big issue as people argue that we should be protecting what has been here way before us. McCain believes that off-shoring drilling should only be allowed if it is done in an environmentally friendly manor. However he claims that he will lift the ban on off shore drilling due to the recent increase of gas prices. The Republican candidates claims that he will do what it takes to make more fuel efficient cars, stating that he will try to lower to amount of harmful gases entering the atmosphere. McCain believes that Americans should take “stewardship” of their “national heritage” by preserving their national parks. The environment is a huge part of both history and present day life which is why it should continue to be protected by the people and the government.
Health Care
Health care is becoming less and less affordable as the decreasing economy continues to affect Americans around the country. McCain has voted towards making generic drugs more available to consumers, saying this action will help to lower prices. Calling out to wealthier Medicare recipients McCain asked if they would pay higher premiums for prescriptions drug coverage hoping this action would outline his economic policies. With his statement on supporting tax credits to encourage individuals to buy healthcare McCain said there will be a decrease in the cost of health care due to the rise in competition. McCain believes that by advocating drugs he can make certain drugs more available and affordable to those who really need them. Health care needs to be solved by a plan which will help not only the needy but all the American people.
Immigration
Immigration in the U.S. is affecting the lives of all Americans as their jobs are being taken away by people who don't even have the right to be in our country. McCain has voted toward increasing the amount of security on our borders to keep Immigrants from entering our country. McCain has teamed up with Senator Ted Kennedy to support a reform bill which would double up the amount of security along the borders of our country. If elected McCain has promised that he will reform the path to citizenship making it faster for an outsider to gain citizenship into our country. By reforming the Immigration policy McCain hopes he can convince highly skilled foreign workers to stay in their country until they are allowed to enter our country on a legal base. With simple solutions, such as better border security, we can stop Immigration and make overall better lives for Americans.
Iraq War
The Iraq War is becoming an interesting topic as people begin to wonder whether we should even be in war in the first place. McCain has voted to approve the American forces in Iraq and continue with the policies used by President Bush. To McCain pulling out of the war now could lead to a greater instability and future conflicts in the region, stating that we should maintain management in the war. Candidate McCain has stated that the war in Iraq is a war which “is a fight between right and wrong, good and evil.” Stating that the “surge is working” McCain believes withdrawal from Iraq would mean “the winning of Al Qaeda.” The solution provided to the Iraq war will not only affect the countries war stance and the people of America.
Economy
The economy continues to affect not only the government but the people as well, the country as a whole continues to suffer. If elected McCain promises to enforce a new economic plan which will create millions of good American jobs. This economic plan involves getting our countries budget in order to hopefully bring relief to American consumers. McCain has stated that he supports telling world markets that our dependence on foreign oil will come to an end, saying that this will help to lower gas prices because consumers would be afraid of losing customers. As a country we need to reorganize our economy before it begins to leave devastating effects upon our people.
Poverty
Poverty is becoming a huge issue which is being faced by the candidates for it is getting harder and harder for people to afford living in this country. In a recent interview McCain has stated that "as President, I will set aside the needs of the special interests to advance the interests of the American people, especially those 12 million children who deserve every opportunity to achieve the American Dream." McCain’s view on poverty in based upon his dream of creating “a strong and vibrant America, one in which people can move up into the middle class, put their kids through college, and work hard and one day earn a respectable retirement.” A 1996 welfare reform bill was supported by McCain as he agreed with the benefits people should receive if they work a certain amount of hours. Over the past few years McCain has voted against a raise in minimum wage, arguing that they can hurt small businesses. As poverty continues to effect the people of our country candidates continue to race toward finding a solution.
Stem Cell Research
Stem cell research is a great way to find new cures yet it should only be done if it is done correctly. The idea of embryonic stem cell research which is used to clone human embryos for experimenting is opposed by the McCain party. However in 2007 McCain voted to allow research using human embryos left over from fertility treatments which, he stated, was a "very agonizing and tough decision." McCain supported a trio of U.S. Senate bills designed to increase federal funding for adult stem cell research in 2006 McCain supported a tri of bills, created by a trio of U.S. Senates, which were designed to increase federal funding for adult stem research. These bills ban the creation of embryos for research and state that scientists should only be allowed to experiment with embryos provided by fertility clinics. As with many research experiments, scientists should be careful with their choice of embryos in order to make sure that their answers are as accurate as possible.

Obama's Views on Technology

Technology is continuing to grow with the ages allowing the candidates to have the chance to create new plans involving technology which can help to change our country. Barack Obama has stated that he will protect the openness of the internet by supporting the principal of networks by trying to preserve the benefits of open competition on the internet. Obama has stated that a key reason for the most open network in history was because the internet has become such a success, which is why if elected he hopes to keep the internet a free place. Another way Obama wishes to change our country is by improving America's competitiveness. The Democratic Party supports a plan on which our country can make sure that our goods and services are treated fairly in foreign markets. The candidate’s plans of reforming our country through technology need to not only look at how they can change the country now but also in the future.

Preparing our children for the twenty first century economy is important as in the future they will have to fix everything without the help of elders who have been through it before. Obama claims that he will recruit math and science degree graduates to the teaching profession, hoping it will make math and science education a national priority. In order to enforce his plan Obama plans to make sure a strong science curriculum at all grade levels hoping that through this process he can make sure children are fully prepared for the future. To Obama one of the most important issues is improving the course of study for all grades so that students will be more prepared for these studies in college. Obama has stated that the challenges of the twenty first century is combining many skills form all around people so he plans encourage more people to study math and science courses so that they can all be on same similar page when it comes time to use math and science to fix a problem. By increasing the force on math and science studies Obama is doing his best on preparing the children of Amercia for the future.

McCain's Views on Technology

Our country depends on others for goods and services which is a main reason to the importance of making sure that the trading remains fair. McCain believes that a way to a better country is through a global marketplace in which he wishes to create fair trade and open world trade. The candidate believes the trade greatly benefits Americans and hopes to strength the trading market in order to better help the American worker. Competition, a great strength for America, is believed to offer low prices and an increase in choice for our citizens, is greatly looked upon by McCain and his party. McCain has stated that he believes competition is a device which creates lower costs and more choice opportunities. In order to remain order throughout the world our country needs to make sure that all trading remains fair and equal.

The internet is an important factor in today’s society which all people across the country should have access to. McCain wishes to enforce a plan in which access to high-speed internet will be available to all Americans so that all Americans can receive the economic opportunities derived from technology. McCain believes that people who act toward their local government should have the ability to invest their own future through infrastructure to provide high-speed internet. If elected McCain promises to bring in men and women, who are talented in the science field, into the federal government. By enforcing his new plan McCain hopes to ensure Administration appointees have adequate experience and understanding of science and technology so that the American people will be served better. With a rise in technology it is important that all people have access to the knowledge and information provide through the internet.

Global Warming

The future of world will be highly affected by what we do today about global warming. Over the past one hundred years the earth ahs warmed by one degree Fahrenheit, which based on climate scientists may be the effect of what people are putting into the atmosphere today. Global warming is an average increase in the earth’s temperature causing the earth to gradually get warmer and warmer. Americans need to become aware of global warming for a living on a warmer planet may cause a change in weather patterns and impact many plants, animals and even humans. If people continue to allow toxic chemicals into the atmosphere, which are destroying our ozone layer, then our children will face difficulties trying to grow food and dealing with severe storms. The lack of food growth due to the warmer climate will increase the cost of food around to world and although this will benefit the farmers the rest of the people will face difficulty feeding their families. Global warming should not be taken lightly for in the future it can have a huge impact on human life and the world around us. In the upcoming election global warming is a huge issue for both sides and the way the candidates see these issues can highly influence the winner for presidential office. In John McCain’s campaign he states that he will work with our international partners to secure our energy future by establishing a market based system to curb greenhouse gas emissions. Even though McCain states such a solution you can never tell if he will follow through because his plan can only work if he becomes committed to it and giving up if some Americans don’t believe in with what he is doing. In the campaign of Barack Obama he states that he will use more clean coal and renewable resources to power our country. Although this solution would fix the global warming problem by not releasing toxic chemicals into the ozone layer American must agree with this solution in order to make it work. Obama may have a hard time trying to get all Americans to follow his ideas, for those who are supporters of McCain may disagree with him. The next president will have to step up and take charge about global warming for they will need to find a solution which all Americans will follow. Solutions to global warming are difficult to find for most are hard to get accomplished. In order to lower the amount of toxics released into the atmosphere I believe all cars should be made into hybrids. If we can take something we use every day and lower the amount of toxics released I believe global warming will slowly recover. By finding new sources of energy, such as wind energy, our country can lean off of toxic energy and depend of more environment friendly power. I think that by using environment friendly energy we can stop destroying our ozone layer and begin to decrease the warming of our planet. There are many solutions to global warming yet solutions are only good if everyone if willing to contribute.

Nuclear Weapons

Nuclear weapons, although highly dangerous, exist all around the world and even in our own country. It is estimated that in our country today there is more than 10,600 nuclear weapons which are built and ready to shoot off. If during wars our country starts to set these bombs off there will be great destruction and the demand will increase. American’s will be forced to pay for the $14,000,000,000 cost in build these weapons and launch pads to set them off. When one of these nuclear bombs explode fifty percent is just blast while thirty five percent if thermal radiation and the last fifteen percent is nuclear radiation. Our country is not the only country with these nuclear weapons so if we were to set one off another country could come back and kill us with one. These bombs, when set off, will cause one of the most destructive and deadliest wars of all time. Both of the candidates have their own opinions on nuclear weapons, both containing positive and negative effects. In the Republican Party McCain believes that we should continue our development of nuclear missiles. This may cause tensions between our allies for we now can blow up the entire world yet it will help defend of country during fighting. Obama believes that the United States should reduce its stockpile in order to lower the risk of nuclear terrorism. Although this will reduce the risk of nuclear terrorism what are we going to do during a war? After we are attacked we need something to defend our land. Candidates need to understand the positive and negative effect of their views before putting them into action. I believe we should only keep enough nuclear weapons to defend ourselves in war. We don’t need enough to blow up the world twenty times for this will only create fear from the countries around us. Although we may be safe during war we could destroy the world by setting these nuclear weapons.

Off Shore Drilling

Off shore drilling is a huge issue in the going on election for both parties. This term usually refers to drilling near the shore for oil which is located under the water yet it covers the drilling for all resources just off the coast. In demand for oil around the world is great causing a severe drop in our resources, which is one of the main reasons many politicians are turning to off shore drilling. However by drilling off shore we could be endangering the lives of many plants and animals that rely on the water for living. Through off shore drilling oil spills will become more common as well as have huge effects upon the wildlife located by the shoreline. Off shoring drilling needs to be looked at carefully before a decision is made, for if it is improved it will have devastating effects upon the nature around us. John McCain’s claims that off shore oil exploration will help lower gas prices for it will help to increase the oil supply. Although this may seem as a practical solution it will not cause gas prices the drop quickly because it will take at least ten years to get a permit to begin drilling. However on the other side Obama states that if by off shore drilling we can create a better comprehensive energy policy for he believes in doing anything to lower our gas prices. The question is if we really want someone who is willing to destroy our environment in order to try to improve our country, yet we can never be sure if it’s really going to work. I believe that by drilling off shore we will be killing our natural environment. Even if drilling off shore may help lower our gas prices we can never be sure how long it will take. Our economy won’t be fixed just over night and we need a president who will be willing to work on the economy over the course of years for we can’t have one who thinks they can create a simple solution to everything. A good president needs to show that they will take time to help our country. By taking the time to fix the fuel problem a president will truly show that they belong in office.

In a campaign candidates will often try to destroy the reputation of the opposing party when really they are only destroying themselves. On the right side of this cartoon there is show an elephant, which represents the Republican Party, saying “The negative ads are working…”. This is showing that the Republican Party is trying to bring down the campaign of their opponents by using and negative ads to show the public false sides of the opposing candidates. On the left side of this cartoon there is shown a clown wearing a McCain pin and chuckling and saying “We’re really making Obama look bad...”. This shows that while the McCain’s campaign is trying to bring down the reputation of Obama they are really only making themselves look ridiculous. Parties will only destroy themselves when they try to rip apart the campaign of the other Party.

During an election candidates are seen differently by different parties. For example in this cartoon we see a donkey which appears laying on a chair at a psychiatrist office, looking into a blob and says “I see that ignorant unqualified, horrible, gun-toting women.” This shows that the Democratic Party, which is represented by the donkey, sees Sarah Palin as a horrific choice for vice president. To the right of the donkey there is an elephant that appears also laying on a chair in a psychiatrist office, looking at a blob yet is saying “I see that lovely, charming god-fearing, well qualified, gun-toting women.” This shows the Republican Party sees Sarah Palin as a well made choice for vice president. Candidates are judged by both parties’ which can affect the outcome of the election.

In the upcoming election both candidates lack the experience of economics which is major issue they will have to face in today’s society. First shown in this cartoon is a TV set in which Obama and McCain are debating over the economic crisis. For the next president to take office the economic crisis will be a huge issue they will have to face so voters today are trying to pick out who will better understand and deal with the crisis if put into office. Next shown is a man and woman sitting on the couch with the woman saying “Wasn’t this debate supposed to be about foreign policy?” and the man answering “Believe me they’re both in foreign territory here…”. Both Obama and McCain, although they contain much experience in other areas involved with a presidential campaign, are lacking the experience with the economic parts of a campaign. Lacking the experience of economic issues the next elected president will have a hard time facing the economy problem in our country today.

The Republican Party is letting Plain talk around the issues for they feel she is saying just enough to win over voters. At first glance this cartoon shows Palin holding a gun with bullet marks far away for the target, labeled issues, behind her. During a debate or other public speaking, Plain will try to avoid the issues by talk her way around them, getting off topic or changing the subject. Directly left of this, there in shown an elephant, which represents the Republican Party saying, “Close enough!” and giving her a thumbs up. The Republican Party is letting Plain do and say whatever she wants, even though they are just making themselves look bad, because they know that she is bringing a lot of supporters over the their side and don’t want to risk the chance of losing the election. The Republican Party needs to better control Plain for although they believe she’s helping win voters she may be losing a lot more.

The Republican Party is allowing Palin to use our tax money to but things that benefit only herslef. This cartoon shows McCain holding bags of money made up of our tax dollars and Plain carrying expensive shopping bags. This shows that McCain is allowing for Palin to use the tax money,which is used to run his campaign, in order to buy things complete unrelated to the campaign. Also there is seen a poor man asking for momey while McCain is answering "Spreading the wealth would be socialism." For this it can be concluded that McCain is allowing his money to benefit Palin whwen really he should be using it to benefit those of his country such as the poor. McCain should stop letting Palin use the campiagn to benefit herself and start using that money to the country he wishes to run.

Candidates will do anything to get a vote yet the won't stick around to hear the real probelms of their followers. first seen in this cartoon is women getting ready to vote saying "As soon as I make my choice I'll tell you all about my problems" to thee Republican and Democratic Parties who are each holding convicing gifts. This shows that both parties will do anything to convince a person to vote for their side. On the bottom of this cartoon there is shown a the women coming out of the voting booth to see a note which read 'See you in two years'. From this it can be seen that although the candidates will do anything to get voters yet once they are sure that they have to vote they won't even stick around to hear what the voter has to say. Both parties need to follow up with their voters to hear about their probelms so that when elected they can fix and make this country a better place to live.

Reflecting on the Cartoons

Over the course of the election candidates are judged not only by what they say but by their actions as well. When put against each other during debates candidates often start to talk around questions to try to avoid answer which may oppose views of the American people. In the ongoing election both candidates have negative sides which they try to cover up with various acts, such as the over talker Plain. Also both Parties have one goal, to get the most votes, which is why they will stop at nothing to gain their desire. Both Parties use techniques such as negative ads to destroy the other hoping that more people will come to follow them. The election, as a whole, is nothing more then a death match involving harshness, sneakiness, and only a little bit of the actual politics.

Election Interview

1. Please explain what you find most interesting about this election and why.
Well I find that an African American running is most interesting because its never happened before and the thought of him winning can have a huge impact of the future and the type of candidates in later elections.
2. What do you see as Obama's greatest weakness and strength?
Well his strength would be that he is such a great talker and can easily convince people to see things his way, yet his weakness is that he sometimes gets to far off topic in stead of staying on the issues.
3. What do you see as the greatest strength and weakness of McCain?
His greatest strength would be his mental strength for he has proven it by surviving his capture, yet his weakness would be that I think he is more concerned about winning the election then the issues in our country.
4. Explain how this election is different from others in the past.
For starters the type of people running are completely different and in past elections you could almost tell who would win yet this election is so neck and neck its hard to tell.
5. What's one issue you feel candidates don't speak the often about, yet feel is most important?
I feel that the issues candidates need to talk more about would be changes in the enviroment. Not just global wamring for they need to talk more about endangered animals and the destructions of wildlife homes.

Reflecting on the Election

After completeing an interview with one of my close neighbors I have concluded that this election is unique in not only who is running but how they are running. For the first time in history we have an African American male running for presidential power. Although this may not seem major it could highly effect the candidates in future elections for a different majority of people will want the same glory if Obama wins. Due to this election being so close the cnadidates are feeling the nedd to change their way of running things in order to bring in more votes. For example the Obama party has changed their symbol so close to the end of the election you wonder if it will even help. Also McCain is doing anything to win over votes by making promises you knwo he can't keep in order to please anyone who many give him a vote. Although this election may be different from any other it is pulling strong as one of the most interesting elections yet.

Obama Collage

Obama is looked upon as one who will bring hope and the candidate is getting the know the people of the country he wishes to run. In the collage of the Democratic Party the words "hope" and "rescue" are made to stand out. It seems that all around the country people are seeing Obama as the one who will bring hope and resuce our country from the devesting economy. Throughout the collage there are pictures of Obama surrounded by his supporters. When Obama is on the news or in the media he is always by supporters either shaking their hands or trying to understand their problems. Obama comes across as the candidates who is getting to know everyone of his follwers so that if he should take up office he can try to please them by fixing all of their problems. In the ongoing election Obama is the one who is taking the time to really understand America.

McCain Collage

Throughout this election McCain is hurting his chances of winning by allowing Palin to take over his campiagn and not looking at the issues of the people. In the McCain collage the words "startegy" and "economic" stand out above all other words and pictures. Candidate McCains party seems to be run with only the political issues in mind instead of the issues of the people he wishes to rule over. McCain needs to not only look at only the issues which are clear to everyone, such as the bailout and global warming, and start looking at fixing the country for the people who are living here. Unlike the Obama collage the McCain collage contains photos of not only McCain but Palin as well. These pictures are contained in this collage for Palin is a huge part of the Republican Party for she is effecting the Party a lot more than McCain seems to be. McCain needs to start running his own campaign instead of letting someone who is hurting his chances of winning the presidential spot. In order for McCain to win over the people he needs to listen to the problems of the people and take back his own campiagn.

Who's In The Lead For Florida?

In the upcoming election Florida is one of the top swing states which both candidates are fighting for. I choose Florida because while explaining the project Mr. Ritter stated that Florida was a huge state which the candidates are fighting for. For me I believe in McCain’s views for stricter guns laws because I feel guns should only be in the hands of only those who really need it. I feel this because you can never know what a person will do with this kind of power and hope the people in Florida feel the same way. Based on the Rasmussen polls taken from February 16th through October 19th McCain is winning the overall votes of Florida. This means a lot to me for I agree with most of McCain’s views talked about in Florida. Florida, a huge swing state during this election, will highly effect the outcome of the election.
By completing research based on polls taken in Florida I was able to find that Obama will win over the state of Florida on November 4th. Based on the Rasmussen polls in Florida Obama has taken the majority of the vote, allowing his party to add another state of supporters. I believe this winning will highly effect the outcome of the election for Florida has a very high population most of who are able to vote on November 4th. The linear regression made after collecting an d graphing data made it very easy to see who would win on the final day of the election, voting day, for all you had to do was solve the equation for the day of November 4th, 2008. By capturing Florida Obama appears to have a higher chance of winning the election for swing states are ones which can highly effect the outcome.
